Mysterious Rare Exotic
Rare black Fashion-type lady who carries her “wealth”
in bright corral, gold & glass beads on her body & in her elaborate
silk hair. Painted eye French Papier Mache shoulderhead c1870 on a kid
body with separate fingers & leather sandals. Other known dolls of
this type had bisque heads attributed to Bru, possibly an earlier version.

on a wire armature body, c1930. Chinese woman, plaster head and bisque
arms. Original, fragile costume of metallic and woven decoration and silk.
Chin and lip rubs. Amazing piece of art, each with oil painted features
expertly done. Fabulous costuming with all the details.

Early, 1930s, doll seldom seen in this size. All original Hindu lady
wears sari made of fine cotton with gold metallic trim. Papier Mache head,
arms, and molded shoes with cloth body. Paint flake on nose.

Shoulderhead on a cloth body with wooden lower arms and legs, including orange painted ladies boots. Finely painted facial features including blue eyes, feathered brows and closed mouth. Molded center part hair with waved sides brought back into a knot with two braids surrounding. Wearing lovely antique silk plaid skirt and jacket trimmed in black velvet with wide neckline. Upper leg repair and crazing on seam lines of shoulderplate. c1850
